About Me

Hi there. My name is Irene Hatchett and I’m an online marketing content writer. My company is called “Hooked” and I write to capture attention.

Most good writers do that, and if you’ve been shopping writers online, you’ve read about how they ask questions and really get to know your business and target market, etc.

I do all that, of course, but I can also offer you something a little more. I’m a business person who happens to make her living writing, so I understand you don’t have time to do a lot of handholding. I get things turned around quickly and submit a first draft that requires very little revision.

My ego isn’t wrapped up in what I write, so in the rare occasion a document isn’t quite right on the first draft, I welcome direct and honest feedback.

I’m not a poet writing content to pay the bills. My creative focus is on your project and on building my skills and company.

I get a big kick out of writing something that generates increased click-through and conversion rates, that makes your customers want to talk with you. I enjoy writing content that gets the desired response and solves my clients’ business problems.

My Background

My company used to be called Impact Copywriting and I launched that venture in 2003. I worked with clients in healthcare, financial services, the arts and human resources technology to write online and print marketing collateral.

In 2010 I changed my name to “Hooked” to better reflect my focus, which is to write content for online and email marketing initiatives.

Before I was an independent writer, I worked with a boutique sports marketing firm, a reverse logistics dot-com and a management consulting firm. With all three I wrote and edited marketing materials, among other responsibilities.

I also spent my first few years out of college trying to make the world a better place with a non-profit alliance of social welfare and environmental groups—and a year after graduate school in Prague, teaching English to Czeck business people.

Last, but not least, I’m the proud mama of a 3½-year-old boy and the contented wife of a man who regularly makes me laugh. We live in Decatur, Georgia, just a few miles from Atlanta.
